The Inklings

Hi. This is me at the Eagle and Child. This is the pub in Oxford were the Inklings - a group of writers including J.R.R. Tolkien (writer of Lord of the Rings) and C.S. Lewis (writer of the Narnia series) and a few other writers whose names I do not know -  used to come and discuss (or argue) Literature. Here's a link to the Wikipedia page about them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inklings.

  1. Gareth,
We are so jealous. We absolutely love Oxford. We did not know that this was the pub where Tolkien and Lewis would " hang out." They are two of my favorite authors. Thanks for the link to Wikipedia for additional information. Your blog is great!
